BNL finishes 13th at Floyd Invite

GALENA – Bedford North Lawrence finished 13th in the Floyd Central Invitational at Valley View during boys high school golf action on Saturday.

The Stars recorded a team total of 370. Evansville North won the team title with 301, while Castle was second with 314.

Drew McKee paced BNL with 87. Other scorers for the Stars included Tyler Bellush (93), Dillon Lewis (95) and Coleson Stiles (95).

“We got off to a pretty good start,” BNL coach Trey Turner said. “I thought the guys were ready to play and did a good job of getting into a groove early.

“We just faded late and the back nine was a struggle. We made some of the same mistakes we made last week and that can’t happen. We can’t expect to shoot good scores when we are making double and triple bogeys. We have to cut down on the big mistakes and learn when to take our medicine.”

Castle’s Brayden Lamborne was the medalist with a 2-under 70.

The Stars will host Bloomington South on Thursday at Otis Park.
