BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Tuesday after a woman said he smacked her in the face on the way to a liquor store.
Police arrested Danny J. McCloud, 54, on a charge of domestic battery with a prior conviction.
According to Officer Jarrett Tedrow, officers responded to Big Red Liquors on 16th Street at 5:53 p.m. after a report of a physical altercation.
When officers arrived, they found a female standing beside a blue Malibu. She told police that when she got home from work in the 700 block of Q Street, McCloud began yelling at her. McCloud was intoxicated and asked her to take him to Big Red Liquors. She agreed to do that.
While she was driving to the liquor store, McCloud smacked her across the face.
She was not injured during this altercation and did not show markings on her face. The woman signed a battery affidavit.
McCloud denied smacking the woman.
McCloud was previously convicted of domestic battery in March 2021.
