Obituary: John ‘Tommy’ Pourner III

July 27, 1981 – April 1, 2024

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of John T. Pourner III, affectionately known as Tommy, on April 1, 2024.

Born in 1981, Tommy was a cherished community member whose witty personality and love for laughter brought joy to many.

Tommy is survived by his loving father, John Pourner II, his devoted mother, Peggy Pourner, and his caring siblings, Alicia and Edward Pourner. A proud father, Tommy leaves behind his son, John “JT” Pourner IV, and his precious daughters, Jaquline and Gloria Pourner.

Sadly, Tommy was predeceased by his beloved son, Edward Pourner, endearing paternal grandfather, Loye Pourner, and caring paternal grandmother, Gloria Pourner.  Maternal grandfather Edward Cook and maternal grandmother Susan Merritt.

Their memories were a source of strength and motivation for Tommy throughout his life. Tommy was a devout member of the White River Baptist Church and loved Classic Rock and Country music. His musical taste reflected his vibrant personality. His sense of humor was infectious, and he was incredibly able to bring happiness to those around him, irrespective of the circumstances.

We find solace in the fact that Tommy’s zest for life and humor will continue to live on in his children and in the shared laughter and stories of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The void left by his absence will be filled with the love and warm memories he has left behind. Tommy chose not to have a viewing and requested to be cremated.

To honor his wishes, a Celebration of Tommy’s life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Pastor Jim Russell will officiate at the White River Baptist Church, located at 7705 Tunnelton Road, Bedford, IN 47421.

We invite everyone touched by Tommy’s life to join us in honoring and remembering a man who has left an indelible mark on our hearts.
