Police investigating vehicle break-ins in Orleans

ORLEANS – Sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. on March 25, a person or persons entered several unlocked cars on the southside of Orleans.

Police believe it is the same individuals who have previously committed this crime.

“The common denominator in all these thefts was the cars were unlocked,” said Town Marshal Richard Dixon. “There was no forced entry in any of the vehicles that were entered.”

The best way to protect your property is always to lock your vehicle when you park it. It’s essential to not leave any valuables in plain view.

“These thieves are looking for the targets of opportunities, so please secure your vehicles when you exit,” said Marshal Dixon.

The Orleans Police Department is asking anyone with information about these thefts to contact the department Anyone with outside cameras is asked to check their footage and see if it captures any suspicious activity.

“By being vigilant and working together we can stop this illegal activity,” added Marshal Dixon.
