Numerous complaints by neighbors land a man in jail on a domestic battery charge

BEDFORD – A Bedford man is facing charges of battery after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to Maple Ridge Apartment after a report of a domestic dispute.

On Tuesday, March 26, Capt. Lonnie Johnson and Officer Robin Compton responded to the apartment.

This is not the first time officers have responded to this apartment. Neighbors have called numerous times about domestic disputes.

Brian Todd

When police arrived, they found both 49-year-old BrianTodd and a female were intoxicated.

The woman had suffered a black eye that was several days old and had new redness around the same eye and on her cheek. She told police Brian had given her the black eye last week. She said Brian was mad and punched her again in the eye, but she did not want him arrested.

Police spoke to Todd, who denied hitting the woman. He told police the old bruising was from where she had fallen at Hamilton Courts last week. Todd told police they were called that night, too.

Todd was detained on a charge of domestic battery and transported to jail.
