Woman arrested after meth falls out of her pocket

BEDFORD – Bedford Police arrested 22-year-old Sabrian Leggett, of Bedford, on Thursday, March 21, on a charge of possession of meth after Officer Michael Bell stopped her vehicle for a traffic violation.

At 5:32 p.m. Officer Bell was on patrol in the area of 4th Street and Lincoln Avenue when he spotted a blue car speeding on Lincoln Avenue. When the vehicle passed Officer Bell recognized the driver as Leggett and knew she didn’t have a valid driver’s license.

They stopped her at the intersection of 5th and P Streets.

Leggett was told the reason why she was stopped. She had a male passenger in the vehicle.

Officer Bell said Leggett was taking rapid breaths, and her hands were shaking.

Both were asked to exit the vehicle. Leggett permitted Officer Bell to search the vehicle.

She began to empty her pockets, and a crystal substance fell to the ground at her feet. Lawrence County Deputy field tested the substance, which was crystal meth.

Nothing else was found in the vehicle.

Leggett was arrested on a charge of possession of meth and transported to jail. The male passenger was released from the scene.
