Support conservation with your tax return

INDIANA – As ‘tax day’ approaches, we’re excited to remind you of an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact on wildlife conservation in Indiana. Did you know you can easily contribute to the Indiana Nongame Wildlife Fund by donating a portion of your tax return?

At the DNR, we’re committed to safeguarding diverse wildlife species that enrich our ecosystems. Through collaborative conservation projects, habitat restoration efforts, and research initiatives, officials work to protect our state’s precious natural heritage. But we can’t do it alone. The Indiana Nongame Wildlife Fund relies on generous donations from conservationists like you to advance this vital work.

Just like the species we protect, every donation (no matter the size), makes a big difference. Whatever portion of your return you decide to donate, your support will have a lasting impact on the future of rare and endangered wildlife in Indiana.

To make your donation filing on paper, use Schedule 5/Schedule IN-Donate. If you are working with a tax preparer, please direct your preparer to Schedule 5/IN-Donate (also referred to as IN Schedule 5-Credtis).

Thank you for considering this opportunity to support Indiana’s rare and endangered wildlife. We can ensure a brighter future for our state’s natural treasures.

Managing Rare and Endangered Wildlife in Indiana

Conservation of rare and endangered wildlife in Indiana is supported by both state and federal dollars. The State Wildlife Grant program, authorized by Congress in 2000, provides federal funding for programs to benefit fish and wildlife species before they become threatened or endangered. These funds are made available as grants to eligible states based on their population and land area. The Nongame Wildlife Fund, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 1982, is a dedicated fund for rare and endangered wildlife conservation in Indiana.
