Record-breaking smallmouth bass pulled from Monroe Lake

BLOOMINGTON — An angler pulled a record-breaking smallmouth bass from Monroe Lake.

Rex Remington pulled the eight-pound four-once bass from the lake on March 3.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources confirmed the record-setting catch.

The previous record was set in 1992 with a seven-pound smallmouth bass catch at Twin Lakes in LaGrange County.

He released the record fish back into Monroe Lake.
