Bedford Plan Commission rules on rezonings

BEDFORD—The Bedford Plan Commission met yesterday, and two citizens seeking to rezone or obtain a special exemption permit were on the agenda.

Frank Hackett requested a rezoning of his property on N Street from a B-1 Convenience Business District to an R-3 Medium Density Residential District. He would like to turn the property into a single-family home. The motion to approve the proposal passed and will now be heard by the City Council.

Sandra France requested a Special Exception Permit for a home on 2nd Street in Bedford. She has the goal of turning the residence into a small group home for developmentally disabled adults. The board stressed that if the proposal were approved by the board, she would still need approval from the State of Indiana to move forward with her plan. The motion to approve the proposal was passed.
