Bloomington man arrested on child molestation charges

BLOOMINGTON — A Bloomington man accused of touching a juvenile inappropriately is now facing multiple child molesting charges.

Indiana’s public court reporting system indicates 58-year-old Timothy Harrison has been charged with child molesting where the defendant is at least 21 years of age and child molesting by fondling or touching a child under 14, which are Level 1 and Level 4 felonies, respectively.

He was arrested on Thursday, March 7th, at 7:06 p.m. and booked into the Monroe County Jail.

According to an affidavit for probable cause, a juvenile reported that Harrison had molested her. After attending a body safety program at her school, the juvenile reported the crime to officials.

The juvenile claimed the molestation had happened three years before.

Police reporting on the case indicates the child told investigators Harrison touched her inappropriately, and Harrison forced her to touch him inappropriately.

Investigators conducted a polygraph test with Harrison. Court documents report the test results indicated that Harrison answered questions deceptively.

Harrison was held on a $100,000 surety and a $1,000 cash bond. His initial court hearing was Thursday, March 7, and he pleaded not guilty. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim. He posted bond on Friday, March 8, and was released from jail. Bloomington Attorney Joseph Lozano is representing Harrison. He will appear in Monroe County Circuit Court 2 on May 13 at 2:00 p.m. for a pretrial conference before Judge Talley Haseman.
