Traffic stop lands two in jail on meth charges

COLUMBUS – An early Monday morning traffic stop in downtown Columbus led to the arrest of two people on drug-related charges.

Columbus Police Department Officers stopped a vehicle without a license plate at 12:20 a.m. near Central Avenue and 7th Street.

Police say the driver, 33-year-old Devin C. Kinman of Columbus, was driving on an expired license and wanted on an outstanding warrant.

When he was searched, police found meth in his pocket.

Police found 24-year-old Emma L. Sipes of Trafalgar hiding in the floorboard of the passenger side.

A search of the vehicle recovered ¾ of a pound of marijuana, along with more meth and drug paraphernalia.

Kinman is facing charges of possession of meth with a prior conviction, possession of a synthetic drug and drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended with a previous conviction.

Sipes is facing charges of dealing in marijuana, possessing meth and drug paraphernalia.
