The Bedford Fire Department swears in 1, promotes 2 and 1 retires

BEDFORD- The Bedford Board of Works and Safety met last night and the Bedford Fire Department had plenty on the agenda for the meeting.

To begin the evening’s proceedings, Parish A. England was sworn in as the newest member of the department and had several people on hand to celebrate the occasion.

Chief Luke Pinnick also asked the board to vote on the hiring of Seth Brown as Firefighter 3rd class, which they approved.

Promotions were in order for two veteran members of the team. Matthew Wronowicz was promoted to Lieutenant, and David Kirts moved into the Senior Firefighter position. These are probationary appointments.

After 27 years and 7 months with the department, the board voted on and approved the retirement of Lieutenant Jeff Holmes. Congratulations on a great career and thank you for your years of service.
