Battery by bodily fluid charges made on Bedford man

JASPER – A Bedford man was detained on Saturday, February 17, after Jasper Police officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute at 10:23 p.m. on Lakeside Drive.

Police arrested 55-year-old Kevin J. Abel, of Bedford, on charges of intimidation, a Level 6 felony, and battery by bodily fluid on a public safety official, a Level 5 felony.

According to Jasper Police, Abel was involved in the disturbance with another resident at the home.

Abel was arrested on a charge of intimidation and taken to the Jasper Police Department, where he spit on an officer.

He was then transported to the Dubois County Security Center.
