Bedford woman sentenced to prison

BEDFORD – A Bedford woman pleaded guilty to maintaining a common nuisance charge and was sentenced to prison on January 25th by Lawrence County Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline.

Brittany York, 40, was on probation at the time of her arrest.

On September 1, 2022, York pleaded guilty to charges of theft and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle in a negotiated plea deal. She was sentenced to 910 days in the Indiana Department of Corrections with the sentence suspended. She was placed on supervised probation for 545 days.

While on probation, she was arrested on a new charge. York pleaded guilty in a negotiated plea deal on January 25, 2024.

She was sentenced to 730 days in prison, with 730 days suspended and 545 days of supervised probation, which violated the terms and conditions of her probation.

As a result of her guilty plea, Judge Cline revoked York’s suspended sentence in the theft case, sentenced York to 850 days in prison, and terminated her probation as unsuccessful. The two sentences are to run consecutively.
