Monroe County Justice Building closed due to heating issues

BLOOMINGTON – The Monroe County Justice Building in Bloomington is closed due to a problem with the heating system.

The 7th Street and College Avenue building has been closed since Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.

HFI Inc. is scheduled to repair the secondary heating system, which provides heat to the second floor where the courtrooms are located, on Friday, January 19. According to officials, those who have pending court cases have been notified, and their court hearings will be rescheduled. Individuals can also check the status of their court dates online at mycase.in.gov after the cases are rescheduled.

The Jail located on the upper floors is fully operational and does have heat, according to Jail Commander Kyle Gibbons.

The building will hopefully reopen on Monday once the system is repaired.
