Investigation leads to multiple meth dealing arrests

BEDFORD – On Saturday, January 6th, around 2:00 p.m., Lawrence County Deputy Brenten Trueblood conducted a traffic stop along Sandpit Road.

He identified the driver as 52-year-old Terry Srygler of Bedford and his passenger as 42-year-old Beau Hash of Bloomfield.

Deputy Trueblood detected indicators of criminal activity and was also aware that the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Drug Detective and the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section had begun a joint investigation into Srygler after receiving multiple reports that he was involved in dealing methamphetamine in Lawrence County.

Deputy Trueblood requested a canine to the scene of the stop.

Bedford Police Sgt. Faheem Bade arrived and deployed his canine, Zazu, who gave a positive alert on Srygler’s vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, police found more than three ounces of marijuana. Both Srygler and Hash were detained.

Srygler had more than seven grams of methamphetamine in individual baggies and more than $2,200 in cash. Hash had a small amount of methamphetamine and controlled substance pills.

Both were arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.

Drug investigators then prepared and submitted a probable cause affidavit requesting a search warrant for Srygler’s residence in the 100 block of Greenhill Addition Road. The Honorable Judge Plummer signed that search warrant.

Officers executed the search warrant at the residence. As they arrived, Deputy Trueblood observed 48-year-old Kristie Srygler, of Bedford, leaving the housing addition with an expired license plate. Deputy Trueblood stopped her as other officers served the search warrant.

Officers located another nine grams of meth, multiple digital scales, approximately 36 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, two more ounces of marijuana, hypodermic syringes, three handguns, a rifle, and other items associated with the dealing of controlled substances.

Kristie Srygler was taken into custody. She was also in possession of a handgun.

Terry Srygler is facing Level 3 felony charges of dealing meth over ten grams, possession of meth between ten and 28 grams, Level 6 felony charges of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance with a firearm, possession of a syringe, and misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Kristi Srygler is facing a Level 4 felony charge of possession of meth between three and ten grams, Level 6 felony charges of possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance, possession, possession of a syringe, and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Officers assisting with the investigation were Deputies Brenten Trueblood, Andrew Tillett, Robin Compton, Thomas Porter, LCPD Drug Detective Chris Griggs, Sheriff Greg Day, Bedford PD Sgt. Faheem Bade and ISP DES Detective Caleb Garvin.
