According to Bedford Police Detective Major Kye Louden, on October 19, 2023, a woman came to the police department. She reported her soon-to-be ex-husband Troy Taylor had violated the protective order numerous times. The woman stated Taylor had sent her approximately 30 messages since being served the protective order. The woman stated Taylor was only allowed to contact her regarding their children. According to police, Taylor used three different phone numbers to contact his estranged wife.

On November 13, 2023, Detective Louden contacted Troy Taylor at his home. Taylor admitted to contacting his estranged wife but said it was only about the kids, and he didn’t believe that violated the protective order.

But Detective Louden said there were several texts sent that were not about the children.

Detective Louden sent the information to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Officer, and a warrant was issued for Taylor’s arrest.
