Three detained after parole officers conduct unannounced search and find meth

MITCHELL – Three people were arrested on drug charges on Friday, December 29, after Mitchell Police officer Steven Britten responded to the 100 block of West Mississippi Avee with three Indiana Department of Correction Parole Officers, Ellyn Hall, Raul Nieves, and Peter Herzog to conduct an unannounced parole check on 44-year-old Bridget Adams.

Upon arrival at 10:18 a.m. Officer Hall spoke to Adams and two other people, Joseph Paul Jones II, 65, of Michell, and 44-year-old Aimee Capps, of Bedford. All three were asked to sit on the couch while officers searched the home.

Officer Hall then asked all three if they would find anything during the search and that is when Capps pulled out a glass smoking device out of her jacket pocket. The pipe contained meth residue.

Officer Nieves located a metal cigarette container on the kitchen table that contained crystal meth, and a plastic hollowed-out writing pen casing. All three denied the ownership of the items.

Police detained all three on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
