BEDFORD – Bridge 36 on Locust Road, just west of State Road 446, should be open by the end of the week, according to Lawrence County Highway Superintendent Brandi Webb.
The 1999 bridge spans the South Fork of Leatherwood Creek. The bridge was deemed structurally deficient in a past bridge inspection and closed.
Crews are working on the approaches for the new super-structure replacement.
Highway crews are also patching roads and placing sand on hills.
