SEYMOUR — A 44-year-old Seymour man died Sunday afternoon in a crash at the intersection of US 50 or Tipton Street and Community Drive in Seymour.
According to the Seymour Police Department, Thomas Jones was found unresponsive and declared dead at Schneck Medical Center.
According to police, Jones’ motorcycle was traveling west on US 50 when a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, driven by Debra Spurgeon of Seymour, turned south from US 50 into a parking lot of JayC Food Store & Fuel Center. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
The crossing intersection was closed for about two hours for police to reconstruct the crash.
Spurgeon submitted to a blood test. Toxicology results are pending, but alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be a factor.
