Citizen calls police to report domestic dispute, call leads to drug charge arrest

BEDFORD – On Monday, December 18, Bedford Police officers responded to Walmart after a report of a domestic dispute.

Based on the caller’s description of those involved and the vehicle, an officer located the vehicle exiting the parking lot and stopped it. There were two people in the vehicle.

The male passenger, 35-year-old Mack Morris, told police the female had grabbed his shirt while they were inside the store. He didn’t want to file any charges. He told police he was trying to get to Transitions in Heltonville.

The female told police there was no domestic dispute.

Police then learned Morris was wanted on a warrant in Monroe County, and he was detained. While searching his pockets, police found two cartridges containing liquid meth, three syringes, and a dollar bill containing crystal meth residue.

He was transported to the Bedford Police Department. While there, Morris requested medical treatment due to his mental status. He was transported to IU Health Bedford Hospital. After a medical evaluation, he was released and transported to jail on charges of possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana.
