Monroe County Coroner confirms one dead in early morning shooting in Bloomington, investigation continues

BLOOMINGTON – Monroe County Coroner Joani Stalcup has confirmed one person has died in an early morning shooting in Bloomington.

Bloomington Police Department is investigating the incident. Not much information has been released at this time.

Police responded to the 500 block of South Park Avenue around 2 a.m. after reports of multiple gunshots.

Police were then alerted a person had suffered a gunshot wound in the 700 block of East Hunter Avenue.

A second person reported they were a passenger in a vehicle that suffered a minor injury from a bullet ricochet near North Indiana Avenue and East 7th Street.

While investigating, officers found a third victim in an alley on South Park Avenue.
