Prison sentence given to Bedford man who fails to comply with terms of his house arrest

BEDFORD – On Monday, a Bedford man was sentenced to the Indiana Department of Correction by Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline after failing to comply with the terms of his house arrest.

Billy D. Mills, 30, Bedford, pleaded guilty to possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 3 felony, on May 11, 2022, as a part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana.

He was sentenced to nine years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, with six years executed, and the remainder of his sentence suspended. On July 19, 2023, Mills’ sentence was modified and he was ordered to serve 1,211 days on house arrest, in lieu of incarceration.

However, on November 20, 2023, after failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his house arrest, Judge Cline sentenced Mills to serve 1,063 days in the Indiana Department of Correction.
