Two teens caught drinking alcohol and are detained

BEDFORD – Two teens were detained early Saturday morning after Bedford Police officers were requested to the 2000 block of Stevens Avenue after a report of unwanted juveniles inside the apartment.

When police arrived at 12:21 a.m. the adult female caller requested all the juveniles be issued no-trespass orders so they couldn’t return to her apartment.

Police found a male and female juvenile sitting in the hallway of the apartment. There were three other juveniles in the living room of the apartment.

While speaking with the two juveniles in the hallway, officers detected the odor of alcohol. Both denied they had been drinking. Both submitted to a breath test and the female teen tested positive for alcohol. In the living room officers found an alcoholic container sitting on the floor between the juveniles.

All three submitted to a breath test and a female tested positive.

All the alcoholic beverages were confiscated.

Both female teens ages 14 and 15 were detained and transported to the Bedford Police Department. Both were issued no-trespass orders.

One of the females was released to her grandmother and the other was released to her mother. Both were issued summons to appear in juvenile court on November 29 at 9:00 a.m. on a charge of illegal consumption.
