Failing to stop at a stop sign lands a woman behind bars on OWI charge

ORLEANS – A Orleans woman is behind bars after an Indiana State Police trooper stopped her for failing to stop at a stop sign.

On Friday, November 17th, Trooper Mackenzi Alexander stopped a driver of a vehicle after she failed to stop at a stop sign in Orleans.

The driver, 43-year-old Melissa Terry, showed signs of being impaired and failed several field sobriety tests.

She was detained on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and transported to the Orange County Jail.

Assisting on the traffic stop were Orleans Police officers.
