BENTON CO. – Yesterday afternoon, Indiana State Police arrested Laud Williams, 28, from Oxford, IN, for sexual misconduct with a minor.
The investigation began when detectives from the Indiana State Police Lafayette District were contacted by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana Department of Child Services about possible sexual misconduct with a minor. Detectives from the Lafayette Post began an in-depth investigation into the incident. During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to determine that alleged sexual misconduct occurred between Williams and a minor.
At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives submitted the case to the Benton County Prosecutors Office for review. As a result of the investigation, detectives were issued an arrest warrant for Williams. On November 17, 2023, Williams was located and safely taken into custody. Troopers then transported Williams to Benton County Jail.

Detectives from the Lafayette Post were assisted throughout the investigation by troopers from the Lafayette Post, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Indiana Department of Child Services.
