MITCHELL – At yesterday’s meeting, the Mitchell Community Schools (MCS) board approved the master contract between MCS and the Mitchell Educators Association (MEA).
The contract is for one year, between the school corporation and the MEA, and it increases all members of the bargaining unit by $2,500 in one step on the salary scale. This will apply to all teachers except for year-0 teachers.
Year-0 refers to brand-new teachers who have just begun, and recently obtained their licenses to teach in the classroom.
Life insurance will increase from $60,000 to $80,000.
A few ECA positions were also added for Color Guard, the Tabletop Club, HOSA, and FFA.
