Five Stars named to All-HHC First Team

BNL senior quarterback Memphis Louden was one of five Stars named to the All-HHC First Team.

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence placed five players, including four seniors, on the All-Hoosier Hills Conference First Team, as selected by the league coaches.

Senior stars Memphis Louden, Maddox Ray, Kline Woodward and Brayden Baker, plus junior Cal Gates, were honored after powering the Stars to a 7-4 record, including a 5-1 mark in the league.

Louden, a three-year starter at quarterback, threw for 1,312 yards and 13 touchdowns, plus he added 607 rushing yards and 13 TDs. He finished with over 5,000 career total yards. Woodward, a two-way starter at linebacker and the offensive line, totaled 82 tackles and also averaged 44.5 yards per kick as a punter.

Baker, a three-year veteran at linebacker, finished with 75 tackles, including 8 for loss. Ray was an impact player at safety with 62 tackles, three interceptions and three blocked punts. Gates led the Stars in rushing (952 yards, 12 TDs) and receiving (22 catches, 383 yards, 5 TDs).

BNL linemen Brady Byers, Junior Arellano and Cade Mungle were named Honorable Mention.

BNL junior Cal Gates was First Team after leading the Stars in rushing and receiving.
