BLOOMINGTON – The Monroe Fire Protection District responded to a call regarding a car crashing into a building in Monroe County early Monday morning.
Around 6:15 a.m. Engine 29, Battalion 29, and Ellettsville Fire Department Engine 81 responded to Gifford Road to find a car in a building.
Firefighters assisted the driver out of the car. The driver declined any medical treatment. Crews also had to shore up the building for the tow company to safely remove the vehicle.
While crews were still on the scene, additional fire units were dispatched to West State Road 45 and Eller Road around 6:40 a.m. to assist at the scene of a two-vehicle accident.
Officials have stated that one person was transported to the hospital for treatment.
