BLOOMINGTON – Bryce Leighton, 34, of Bloomington, was arrested by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department on a murder charge early Sunday morning.
He is being held in the Monroe County Correctional Center without bond.
Leighton is accused of shooting 48-year-old Tara Langley of Bloomington.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Department deputies were dispatched at approximately 1:30 a.m. to the 5900 block of East State Road 45 after a report of a disturbance.
When deputies arrived and checked the residence they found Tara Langley deceased with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Lying near the body was an AR-15-style rifle. According to officers, there was also a taser in the home.
Neighbors reported those living in the home were constantly fighting.
