According to a probable cause affidavit, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at approximately 4:41 p.m. Lawrence County Central Dispatch received a call from a female who reported her ex-boyfriend
Jarrod Feathers had broken into her home at 49 Hill Top Lane, trashed her home, and stole her belongings.

When police arrived they found the female caller in the driveway. She told police she had ended her relationship with Feathers about a week ago. She stated when she was not home Feathers had entered her home and broke items, left the house a wreck, and had stolen several items.

Feathers was caught on security video entering the home at 11:30 a.m. and at 2:17 p.m. Feathers unplugged the security system.

Some of the items stolen included a dresser, an iron pot and pan holder that hung from the ceiling in the kitchen, two batteries out of two Razor scooters, a lanyard with a bear footprint, a multiple colored key ring, a wooden towel rack, a painting, a wooden shoe rack, more than $100 in a piggy bank, a wooden bookshelf, and a wooden dresser. The estimated value of the items stolen was more than $1,600.

There was damage to the printer and a broken wooden chair, and a wooden clothes hanging rod was broken and dislodged from a closet wall.

The female told police she believed Feather was staying with his mother near Crossroads Church.

Officers arrived at Feather’s mother’s home in the 1000 block of Trogdon Lane. She told police Feathers was not staying there but had dropped off some of his personal items. The reported stolen dresser was on the front porch. She told police the dresser belonged to her. Additional reported stolen items were also located on the property. Feathers’ mother said he had attempted to get an order of assistance to get his things from the home and he had gone to the home to get his belongings.

Feathers then arrived on the scene and told police the batteries were in a trash bag in the garbage at the woman’s home because they were bad and the lanyard was in the woman’s car in the backyard. He said all the property the woman was claiming was stolen was his and he had made the bookshelf and shoe rack. Feathers told police he had lived at the home for almost a year and received mail at the home. He told police the printer and the chair that was broken were both his and he had dropped them and they broke. He also said the rod in the closet was broken before he arrived. The other stolen items had been taken to a storage unit owned by Feathers on Kentucky Hollow Road. They loaded all the stolen items into the back of police vehicles and Feathers’ truck and they were returned to the female.

Feathers was issued a no-trespass order and the information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
