Vaughn Leroy Young, 91, of Heltonville, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Huron on May 16, 1932, he was the son of Charles Kenneth “Kenny” and Lucille (Morris) Young. He married Roberta Hicks and she preceded him in death. He then married Rheadawn Hillenburg who survives, and they have been married for 51 years.
Leroy was a member of Dive Christian Church in Bedford and retired from G.M. Powertrain as a Forklift Driver. He was an area musician with the local band “Leroy and the Lonesome Travelers”.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Leroy are his wife, Rheadawn; three daughters, Karen (Jeff) Charles of Bedford, Kathy (Gary) Grow of Fayetteville, and Kimberly Flinn of Texas; son, Tim Young of Bedford; step-children, Michael Hillenburg of Heltonville and Kimmy (Eddie) Parr of Seymour; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Kenny” Young and Lucille Stalets; his first wife, Roberta; and his brother, Ronnie Young.
Funeral services for Vaughn Leroy Young will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the
Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday at Ferguson-Lee Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
