LAWRENCE CO. – Lawrence County Sheriff Greg Day has given his official response regarding former Lawrence County Deputy Timothy D. Butcher’s arrest.
“After Mr. Butcher’s retirement, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office found discrepancies, launched an investigation, notified the proper state authorities requesting a thorough financial and criminal investigation, and then cooperated throughout.” Sheriff Day said.
“Upon Mr. Butcher’s arrest yesterday, he was booked in and processed at the jail the same as anyone else arrested on a warrant. He received no special treatment.”
