Richard Roberts, 65, of Shoals, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
Born on October 31, 1957, in Martinsville, Indiana, he was the son of Charles William and Ila (Rusher) Roberts.
Richard married Rita Flinn on January 21, 1977, and she survives.
He retired from National Gypsum, also working at Goodyear, Simmons Upholstery, as a semi-truck driver, and in the logging business.
Richard enjoyed working on his farm and spending time with his family.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 46 years, Rita Roberts; son, Danny Roberts; daughter, Jessica (Steve) Chybinski; three sisters, Louise Wade, Marie Nelson, and Debbie (Jr) Tharp; three grandchildren, Stephen (Allison Anderson) Chybinski, Lynn (Kalib Engleking) Wilson, and Justin Roberts; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Roberts; two sisters, Ida Roberts and Annie Flinn; and two grandchildren, Brittany and Dustin Roberts.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the family’s home, with Pastor Matt Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Brock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, and from 9 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the family’s home.
