IU gunpoint robbery suspect still at large

BLOOMINGTON – Indiana University Police officers are searching for a person who robbed an IU student at gunpoint near the 13th and Fee parking lot early Sunday morning.

The student victim reported the robbery around 3 a.m.

The suspect, who police describe as a 20-year-old mixed-race male with tattoos and a short buzz cut, offered to give the victim a ride back to campus following an off-campus party.

According to the Indiana University Police Department, the suspect reportedly drove the victim to the parking lot at the 13th Street parking lot where he battered and robbed the victim with a handgun.

A cell phone, watch, backpack, shoes, and wallet were stolen from the student before the male suspect fled that area.

IUPD was not able to locate the suspect on Sunday but says that there is no imminent threat to campus.

The victim who suffered minor injuries during the robbery was treated at Monroe Hospital and released.
