Obituary: James “Kenny” Nett

September 13, 1946 – October 14, 2023

Kenny Nett, 77, of Bedford, IN, passed away on October 14, 2023, at Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born September 13, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Carl R. Nett and Agnita (Bryan) Nett. He married Mary Beth Hunter on May 30, 1968, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and she survives.

Kenny graduated from St. Xavier High School of Louisville and earned a BA from I.U. Southeast. He was a retired accountant, member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.

Surviving to cherish Kenny’s memory are his wife, Mary Beth of Bedford; daughter, Maggie Albright of Indianapolis; sons, Jon (Hope) Nett of Bedford and Robert (Marci) Nett of Lady Lake, Florida; nine grandchildren, Jacob Cornett, Ben, Jack and Daniel Albright, Evelyn, Vivienne, Samuel, Elijah and Miriam Nett; siblings, Mary Bloemer, Carl, Michael, David and Danny Nett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding Kenny in death were his parents; and siblings, Paul, Fred, Ronnie, Tommy, Billy, and Patrick Nett. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Jegan Peter and Deacon David Reising officiating. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Gillen Post #33. Burial will follow at a later date. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church with the Rosary being prayed following visitation, also on October 21.
