New Albany man arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography

FLOYD CO.   A Cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) led to the arrest of a New Albany man for possession and distribution of child pornography.  

Detectives Mike Bennett, working with the Indiana State Police – Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force in Sellersburg began an investigation in June 2023 after receiving a cyber tip report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The cyber tip report indicated that a specific account was possibly used to transmit child pornography images or video files.  

Based on information gathered in the investigation, Detective Bennett requested a search warrant for a Spring Street address in New Albany and also for 32-year-old David A. White of New Albany. Detective Bennett submitted all information to the Floyd County Prosecutor’s Office following the search and investigation.  

On October 5, 2023, Officers arrested David White on a warrant for two counts of Child Exploitation, each a level four felony, and three counts of Possession of Child Pornography, each a level five felony. 

White was transported to the Floyd County Jail without incident.  

The Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is a multiagency task force that investigates and prosecutes persons who use the internet to sexually exploit or entice children, and the Indiana State Police oversees the task force.
