Driver arrested after trooper finds drugs

WEST BADEN – On Friday evening, October 6th, Indiana State Police Trooper Austin Collins stopped to assist the Orange County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop.

The driver, 38-year-old Shelby Wilson, showed signs of being impaired and failed field sobriety tests.

A probable cause search was conducted. Police found methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Wilson was transported to the IU Health Hospital for a blood test.

Wilson was arrested on charges of possession of meth, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia and was transported to the Orange County jail.

Assisting at the scene were ISP Trooper Noah Ewing, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies, West Baden Police officers, and French Lick Police officers.
