Woman throws a bottle and is detained

BEDFORD – A Medora woman faces charges of battery resulting in injury, resisting law enforcement, and residential entry after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a report of a physical altercation between two females on Friday, September 29 at 226 Perry Street.

Haley Lee

Police arrested 30-year-old Haley Lee.

When police arrived they spoke to a female who they found sitting on the front porch. She was crying and told police that Lee had arrived at the home and locked her outside. She stated when Lee opened the front door she threw a bottle at her hitting her in the left wrist causing an injury. Lee then shut the door and locked it again. The victim signed a battery complaint.

Officers knocked on the door and commanded Lee to exit the house. But she refused to answer. An officer then went to the rear door and again Lee refused to exit. Officers could hear Lee inside. Again they knocked and commanded Lee to exit the home. Officers then entered the home to find Lee in a bedroom and escorted her outside. While attempting to handcuff Lee she pulled away from the officer. She was placed against a wooden structure on the back porch to prevent her from fleeing or fighting and was handcuffed.

Lee was then transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
