Teen detained after police find marijuana, vodka

BEDFORD – A Bedford teen was detained Monday after Bedford Police officers were dispatched to Thomasson Court at 1:16 a.m. after a male reported he found drugs inside his son’s room.

When the officers arrived they were met by the caller who reported he found a backpack inside a Pacman Arcade Machine in his 17-year-old son’s room.

The caller reported his younger son had bought him a candy bar from the gas station and when asked how he got the money for the candy the younger teen said he got it from his 17-year-old brother, who gave him $5 from his backpack.

The caller found the backpack stuffed inside the arcade machine. He looked inside the bag and then called police. Inside the bag, police found an open bottle of vodka, seven THC vape cartridges, two aluminum foil squares containing eight baggies of 25 grams of marijuana total, and a hand-rolled marijuana cigarette.

The 17-year-old told police he had not drank any of the alcohol and he was holding the other items for a friend.

The teen was issued a promise to appear in juvenile court on October 11th at 9 a.m. and was released to his father.
