Paula Rene’ Thomas, 57, of Springville, passed away at 3:19 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born May 4, 1966, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of William E. and Wilma L. (Hadden) Melton. She retired as an assistant manager at Dollar General Stores and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Bryan Thomas (Emily), of Columbia City, IN, and Dustin Thomas, of Bedford; grandchildren, Bryanna Thomas, Aiden Thomas, Chase Thomas, Hunter Thomas, and baby boy Thomas; a sister, Venita Barley (Douglas), of Bedford; her fiancé, Brian Taylor, of Springville; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great niece; her mother-in-law, Patsy J. Coulter, of Ellettsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William, Henry, and George; a son, Christopher (in infancy); a sister, Mary Godsey; her father-in-law, Rick Coulter; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6th at Burgoon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
