Jeffersonville volleyball sweeps past BNL

JEFFERSONVILLE – Jeffersonville hammered out a three-set sweep of Bedford North Lawrence during high school volleyball action on Saturday.

The Red Devils (5-17 overall, 1-5 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) posted a 25-17, 26-24, 25-15 victory. BNL fell to 7-17 overall and 1-5 in the league.

“We came out flat today and didn’t play with energy,” BNL coach Whitney Carroll said. “We’re usually a great serve receive team, but Jeff had some good spin jump servers and we just didn’t adjust.”

Sammie Gratzer paced the Stars with 10 kills and 8 digs, Camryn Anderson totaled 9 kills and 6 digs, Trinidy Bailey had 8 digs and 23 assists, Sara Williams had 2 kills, Isabelle Harding totaled 2 blocks and Kendlyn Alvey added 5 digs.

BNL, which will learn its sectional fate when the IHSAA announces the postseason pairings on Sunday, will host Madison in the Block Out Cancer fundraiser game on Monday.
