Salem woman takes out several telephone poles and is injured

SALEM – On Monday, September 25th at approximately 5:53 p.m. emergency services members responded to State Road 60 East in reference to a vehicle crash that had taken out several telephone and internet poles.

According to Washington County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Deputy Dustin Pridemore, a white Ford Escape, driven by Bobbie Jackson, of Salem, had run off the roadway and into two utility poles. Jackson told police she had a medical episode that caused her to lose consciousness briefly while driving causing her to run off the roadway.

Jackson was transported by ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The roadway was shut down for several hours while utility workers removed the cables from the roadway and placed new poles.
