BLOOMINGTON – Indiana University Health invites Bloomington and the surrounding communities to their free health fair from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, at Switchyard Park.
The event will be located at 1601 South Rogers Street in Bloomington, the fair will be hosted at the park’s main pavilion – rain or shine.
IU Health team members and community organizations will offer a variety of resources, education, and fun for participants, including but not limited to:
- CPR demonstrations and practice
- Drug Take Back with the local fire department
- Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations
- Free bike helmets and bike rodeo
- Healthcare provider meet and greet
- Infant-centered booths (books, safe sleep sacks, and beds)
- Kids games
- Local VA gun locks
- Naloxone training and giveaway
- Nicotine cessation information
- Screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, and hypertension
These areas of focus were decided upon based on the Community Health Needs Assessment which has identified the following areas as ones of concern for the community: Hypertension prevention, infant and maternal health, child safety, nicotine cessation, substance use disorder and behavioral health, and aging population health.
