Suspended driver’s license leads police to meth, driver detained

MITCHELL – A Bedford man was arrested on drug charges after he was stopped for a traffic violation early Sunday morning.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested 27-year-old Cody Combs on charges of possession of meth and driving while his driver’s license was suspended with a prior conviction.

On Sunday, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Officer Kenton Carter conducted a traffic stop in Mitchell.

During the stop, he found Combs was driving on a suspended license. Combs was detained. Police then found meth.

LCPD Officer Clifford Pruett and Mitchell Officer Turner assisted with the investigation.
