Re-zoning for a 5th Street barbershop sent to public hearing

BEDFORD – Forest Lake, of Bedford, filed a request asking to re-zone his land from R-3 Medium Density Residential District to B-1 Convenience Business.

Earlier this week, the Bedford Planning Commission tabled the matter, sending the re-zoning of Forest Lake’s property on the corner of 5th Street to a public hearing.

A prospective buyer wants to turn what is currently a used-car lot into a new barber shop. If the zoning change fails to pass and the buyer decides not to purchase the plot, it will remain as a car lot.
