Obituary: Michael G. Nikirk

January 1, 1952 – September 5, 2023

Michael G. Nikirk, 71, of Kodak, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville.

He was born in Bedford on January 1, 1952, to Isaac M. Nikirk and Ida Ethel (New) Nikirk. Mike graduated from Oolitic High School in 1969. Mike married Kimberly S. (Hagan) Nikirk and she survives.

Mike loved his family. His wife of 35 years, his seven children, and his 21 grandchildren, he loved fiercely. Mike’s career was in the trucking industry for thirty-plus years; besides the trucking industry, Mike had a love and passion for others. He loved the Lord and had a passion for serving through food ministry. His heart was to feed others as Jesus often fed the people.

Many will speak volumes of his love, his generosity, and his food as he was a man who was loved by many. Mike truly had a servant’s heart as his Lord and Savior.

Shawn (Jamie) Nikirk, their children, Dalton, Dylan, and Tori, Heather (Travis) Proffitt, their children, Jaiden, Maddison, and Carver, Mark (Marie) Kinser, their children, John Mark, Wyatt, and Morgan, M.
