Faulty headlight lands man in jail after police find meth, marijuana

BEDFORD – A Bloomington man was arrested after a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputy spotted a 2017 GMC Sierra on State Road 37 near the Oolitic stop light with a headlight and a taillight out.

The driver, 46-year-old Christopher Head was stopped on State Road 37 just north of Salt Creek Bridge.

The officer also found the license plate was expired.

Head told the officer he was on his way to work. Police then learned Head was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Greene County. Head was detained.

Oolitic canine Deny Joe arrived on the scene and alerted officers to drugs in the vehicle.

During a search of the truck, police found multiple illegal items including a glass smoking device with meth inside, baggies with 1.48 grams of meth inside, a baggie of marijuana, six marijuana cigarettes, and two bottles of urine.

Head was then charged with possession of meth and marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
