Driver arrested after an accident, another seriously injured

SHELBURN – One man was arrested and another seriously injured after a car versus motorcycle crash in Sullivan on Friday.

On September 1, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Sullivan County Central Dispatch received a report of the accident on US 41 at Broadway Street in Shelburn.

Deputy Cole Boatright conducted the investigation.

According to Deputy Boatright, a 2001 Ford Pickup, operated by Todd Howard Jr., 28, of Sullivan was traveling south on US 41. Howard proceeded to attempt to turn east onto Broadway Street.

As Howard began to cross the northbound lane of US 41, he failed to yield the right of way to a motorcycle that was traveling northbound. The motorcycle, being operated by Craig Seprodi, of Sullivan, attempted to avoid a collision but was unable to.

As a result of the collision, Seprodi was seriously injured and transported by air ambulance to Indianapolis for treatment.

Howard was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury with a Schedule 1 or II substance, OWI endangerment, and operating a vehicle without financial responsibility.
