FRANKLIN – Bedford North Lawrence finished 14th in the power-packed Hall of Fame Classic at The Legends in Franklin on Saturday.

The 18th-ranked Stars carded a team total of 340. No.4 Homestead won the title in the loaded field (which included 17 ranked teams) with 298, while No.1 Carmel was second with 301.

Chloe McFaddin paced BNL with a 75. Kinleigh Root fired an 85, and Kenley Craig added an 89.

“Chloe was locked in and steady,” BNL coach Kori Johnston said. “She’s a solid player and plays with a lot of confidence. She had one bad hole but rebounded quickly to post a great round.

“I’m also very proud of Sammie (Nusbaum) today. She was battling on the front nine, but didn’t give up and turned it around on the back to post her personal best nine-hole score (41).”

Castle’s Ashley Kirkland was the medalist with sensational 67. Westfield’s Sam Brown and Batesville’s Ava South settled one stroke back with 68s.

“It was good to see where we stand against some of the top teams in the state,” Johnston said. “We have more work to do, but I’m proud of them for getting through today after a long week of modified practices due to the heat.”

The Stars will host Edgewood at Otis Park on Monday.
